Three wines -Hebo, Quercegobbe, Petra- define the identity of Petra with clarity and form its backbone.
The allure of the Bordeaux blend is expressed above all in the barrel cellar, a space we designed specifically for two wines: Quercegobbe and Petra. Hebo, on the other hand, is aged exclusively in concrete.
HEBO, QUERCEGOBBE, PETRA
A progressive and careful work has been developed on these wines, aimed at restoring greater clarity and expressiveness: aging time in wood has been reduced (from 24 to 18, now to 12 months), accompanied by a more targeted use of new oak, to yield fresh wines free of excess structure; the aging temperature has been lowered to 15°C, to limit oxidation and preserve precision; air quality has been refined through an infrared treatment that reduces mold and humidity, increasing the cleanliness and clarity of the wines.
CONSISTENCY OF STYLE
Over nearly thirty years, Petra has not stood still: the place changes, the seasons change, the vines change, and so do the people who work here. If at the beginning the approach followed a model, today the responsibility is different: to express the identity of the territory and its wines with clarity.
