THE MEDITERRANEAN
CHARACTER OF
THE TUSCAN COAST

BORN
FROM STONE

Stone is a central element, from the stone on the outside to the stone at the heart of the mountain.
During the visit in winery, one passes through a tunnel—strongly desired by Vittorio Moretti—that leads into the heart of the underground cellar. It is a very deliberate choice, because it reveals what lies beneath the winery: the foundations of the building, and the roots of the vines.
Architecture is an organizing principle: gravity, proportions, materials, and light guide every daily gesture. The winery and the landscape now form a single organism.

FLYSCH A PALOMBINI

The stone of the Hill: flysch a palombini, with its grey-blue color. As the rock weathers, it gives rise to a sequence of terraces: first, soils richer in clay, with grey-brown tones; then soils increasingly rich in sand and silt, with ochre and reddish hues created by the presence of iron oxides.

THE MANIFESTO

It is from here that the manifesto of our wines takes shape: Bordeaux blends that express the Mediterranean character of the Tuscan Coast.

The sensory profile is characterized by:

  • red fruit with citrus notes
  • Mediterranean balsamic notes
  • natural juiciness
  • blood-like and iron-rich notes
  • chewy tannins

These wines are:

  • Brilliant, like the light of the coast
  • Red, like the color of these soils, with red and dark fruit and a note of blood orange
  • Spiced and balsamic, like the Mediterranean scrubland
  • Agile and juicy, like the wind that shapes these hills
  • Marked by dense, tactile tannins and a hematic finish, echoing the ferrous character of the soils
  • Gastronomic and long-lived, like the conviviality of the Tuscan Coast

CHARACTER AND STYLE

Today, Petra represents a journey of almost thirty years: of architecture, ambition, intuition, and people who have evolved alongside a landscape that continues to assert itself. It is a project that cultivates the Mediterranean character of the Tuscan Coast with discipline and rigor, but also with creativity and courage. That path has led us to a clearer understanding of our identity and our style.
